Bulletin Announcements

May 21, 2006 through May 27, 2006

A psalmist wrote: "Make a joyful noise tot he Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises" (Psalm 98:4, NRSV). In that spirit let us sing and have joyful fellowship with each other. Welcome, friends.

New Baby! Chrissy Tredray, one of our school teachers, had a girl, named Rebecca Faith, on Thursday, May 18th. She weighed 9 lbs and measured 21 inches. Mom and baby are both doing well.

It's Garage Sale Time Again!  Needs we have, ways you can get involved:

  2) Leaders (one or two) for June 3
  3) Donations: furniture, bikes, books, toys, kitchen supplies - anything we can sell that people use. The garage is ready to begin accepting your donations!

The LWML Convention in St. Peter in June will be attended by our delegates Gloria Groenke and Bea Haagenson. It is our plan to bring a "Love Offering" and "Gifts from the Heart." Today's coffee hour donations will be the love offering. Questions or comments, please see Gloria or Bea. Please give a generous gift of money. MN South LWML has named 2006 the "Year of the Yard" and there are two types of "yard" gifts:
   1)  New cotton blend fabric: Three yards of 45 inches wide or four yards of 36 inches wide. The fabric will be given to Lutheran World Relief for women in disaster areas.
   2) Knitted or crocheted bandages (48 inches long) for leprosy and tropical ulcer patients. The bandages will be given to Global Heath Ministries and included in container shipments to areas of need. For knitting and crocheting instructions see Bea.

So, Church, where are we going? I'm glad you asked!!  The voters affirmed the work of the Vision Into Action Task Force in a special assembly after worship. We will move forward in mission with a 3-pronged approach: 1) Children's ministry (largely, continued commitment to our school); 2) Mission Center thru Church Planting; 3) Developing a ministry on Franklin Avenue! Don't get comfortable  .. the work is just beginning!!!! - Pastor Jacob
