Pastor Tom Stover's Ordination is this afternoon, August 6th, at 2:30 p.m. at Community of Hope Lutheran Church in Rosemont.

Anniversary High Tea - As part of celebrating 150 years of grace, the Ladies of the LWML / Ladies Aid of Trinity First are pleased to invite you to an afternoon of High Tea and Entertainment, Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. Program: Sarah Grundem, Harp; Vintage Clothing Video; Kristen Pauling Hirt, Soprana; Fellowship and Reminiscing. All current and former members and friends are invited.

Please pray! For Terri Bentz's brother, Tom Taylor as he recovers from knee surgery. Also for the family members of Keith Simpson, friends of Todd and Terri Bentz, who passed away this last week after a long battle with cancer.

God Provides - Celebrate all that God has graciously give us, and to Trinity First for 150 years. Celebration Service is Sunday, August 27, 2006, 1:30 p.m.

Way To Go, Trinity First! You are fruitful! Congregations are multiplying out of our campus! Please be in prayer for these six church plants in various stages of development:
    +  School children and their families (Pastor Tom)
    +  Muslims who want to follow Jesus (Kevin)
    +  East African and Amharic language (Pastor Francis)
    +  Tibetan children's ministry (Bob Nikl)
    +  Vintage (The core leadership team is being assembled as we speak and meets for the 3rd time at the Gillard's this afternoon!)
    +  Hispanic / Latino: This is still in the "praying" stage. Ask God to provide a mission developer!

                    - Pastor Jake, 150th Anniversary Celebration Culmination at 1:30 p.m.

Stained Glass Window Repair  The Lexon (TM) on the windows needs to be replaced. Approximately $45,000.00 has been donated towards this effort. There is still a need for about $14,000.00 Please consider contributing to this repair project. The contractor, Palmer Stained Glass, Inc., has also cleaned the windows from the inside. They look incredible! Thank you!

Bible Study for Seniors will be taking a break from their first-Saturday-a-month meetings this summer. They will resume their studies in September - watch for details in a couple months.

We Have A Number of student interns and volunteers who'd like to be involved in ministry with us over the coming year. Please be in prayer for these harvest hands!

25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration!  David  Ramona Bond invite you to join them on Saturday, August 12th at 2:00 pm in their home in Hackensack. The Bonds ask for no gifts. For directions, please call the church office.

A Measure of our Faithfulness Last Week
  -  There were 58 in our Sunday Worship Service on July 30
  -  There was no Tuesday Family Fellowship on August 1
  -  Last week's offering : $1,520.05

World Mission Minute - - Ponder and Pray!
Lutheran Bible Translators has recently published the first New Testament in the Canar Quichua language of Ecuador. the Canar Quichua language is a dialect descended from ancient Inca languages. The translators plan to continue working on sections of the Old Testament. Praise God that His Word can now be read by more people!

Mission Survey Trip -  On August 10-25, World Mission Prayer League will be sending Vicar Dr. Funchatou Lo of Grace Lutheran Hmong Ministry to China to do a field study for the possibility of starting new mission work among the Aytoo people in Guangxi Province. He will first make a short stop in Hong Kong to attend a mission conference to learn what the Oversea Mission Fellowship has done with that Aytoo people. On August 16, Dr. Lo will join another missionary, Rob Lewis, from Canada to go to Nanning in Guangxi Province. They will use the rest of the time to study the Aytoo people and observe what other missionaries are doing in regard to mission work. Please keep Dr. lo and Rob Lewis in your prayers.

Risen Christ (9050 60th Street N, Stillwater) is partnering with the MN South District to reach the Chinese living in the metro area (20,000) immigrants, 2,000 visiting scholars). Spearheading this mission will be Stephen Wiesenauer, a graduate of Concordia Seminar in St. Louis who speaks the language fluently. Stephen will be ordained and installed as associate pastor /missionary tot he Chinese on Sunday, august 13 at 3:00 p.m. Lane Seitz will ordain Stephen, and Peter Meier will preach the sermon. Pastor Jake will also be participate in the service. The members of Risen Christ invite you to participate in this special service. Food and fellowship will follow the service.

Lutheran Night at the Twins!  (Thrivent Financial for Lutherans) --Wednesday August 16, 7:10pm - Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians. Seats available at discounted prices, $1 hotdogs, pre-game on-field ceremony recognizing Lutherans from around the upper Midwest, represent your congregation in the "Lutheran Night anthem Choir." Beginning the Dialog: Understanding the Myths and Realities of Mental Illness will be held at Jehovah Lutheran Church (1566 Thomas Ave, St. Paul) on Saturday, August 26th from 8:30 am until 12:00 noon. receive accurate information about the symptoms of serious mental illness and the impact on the person and the family. 2006 will be a Year of Testimonies at Trinity First (among other things). Do you have words of encouragement to share? Please see Pastor Jacob - he'll make sure you get to "tell everyone what He has done"!

Have a favorite hymn? Suggestions may be placed in the offering plate.

Please Consider bringing in some flowers from your garden for all to enjoy! Flowers beautify our sanctuary and remind us of God's creation. The sign up sheet is in the narthex. Please call the church office if you would like to recognize a special occasion with your flowers and it can be printed in the bulletin.

Hymnal Repair - if you see a hymnal in church that is in need of some repair, please give it to Bea.

Sign-Up Sheets to provide flowers for the sanctuary are on the bulletin board in the Narthex. It's a great way to honor a special person or occasion!

Portals of Prayer for July-September are available in the Narthex. Suggested donation is $1. What a great way to spend time with God and your family. A limited number of large print copies are available in the church office.

Campbell's Soup Labels -  Lutheran Special Education Ministries can benefit from Campbell's soup labels - and labels from other Campbell's products as well. The ministry sends the labels to Campbell's and exchanges them for classroom equipment and materials which will benefit us at Trinity First. For information on how you can help with this project, please contact Michelle at school.
