Hispanic Mission Minute  -  (written by  Abby Dawkins)  The Spanish verb "esperar" has two different meanings: "to wait" and "to hope." What a beautiful word to cling to in this advent season! This is the time where we remember our Lord's coming to earth as a baby. We wait for His arrival. We yearn for His healing and liberation. Can you feel it? Yet we do not wait in vain. The very one we wait for has come. He, indeed, is the Savior of the World, has set us free from death and Satan's power, and walks beside us every day. He is our hope - our certainty in times of ambiguity. Pray with me as we hope and wait for God to draw His Spanish-speaking children to know Him personally.

Lutherans for Life - "I've stayed involved with Lutherans For Life all these years because this is a ministry that doesn't just talk about being pro-life. We try to live pro-life. We don't just tell other people not to choose abortion. We try to help people choose life. We don't consider desperate situations to be hopeless. We look for creative solutions that inspire people to hope." - Linda D. Bartlett, former president of Lutherans For Life

Thrivent Matching Funds  allotted $28 million thru their "Giving Plus" program for 2006 that will most likely run out before the end of the year. If you are a Thrivent member and plan to make a gift to a qualifying charitable institution (like Trinity First School) and want to maximize your gift with Thrivent's "Giving Plus" matching program, please act quickly! The window of opportunity will have passed when the last penny of the $28 million has been dispersed. All gifts coming in 2006 after that point will not be matched in 2006.

Lutheran Marriage Encounter ... A weekend of discovery, a lifetime of love.  Enjoy 44 hours away from the hectic pace in our lives. Experience growth, enrichment and intimacy in your relationship. Focus on your marriage, a wonderful gift to each other. Register soon - the weekends are filling fast: November 17-19 and February 9-11 (Brooklyn Center). For information and registration, call Chuck and Nancy Roberts 651-464-1858 or visit www.godlovesmarriage.org.

CD's or Cassette Tapes of this worship gathering are available to you by calling or emailing the church office, 612-870-9487.

Confirmation Instruction Would you or someone you know like confirmation instruction? Let Pastor Jacob know.

2006 will be a Year of Testimonies at Trinity First (among other things). Do you have words of encouragement to share? Please see Pastor Jacob - he'll make sure you get to "tell everyone what He has done"!

Have a favorite hymn? Suggestions may be placed in the offering plate.

Please Consider bringing in some flowers from your garden for all to enjoy! Flowers beautify our sanctuary and remind us of God's creation. The sign up sheet is in the narthex. Please call the church office if you would like to recognize a special occasion with your flowers and it can be printed in the bulletin.

Hymnal Repair - if you see a hymnal in church that is in need of some repair, please give it to Bea.

Sign-Up Sheets to provide flowers for the sanctuary are on the bulletin board in the Narthex. It's a great way to honor a special person or occasion!

Portals of Prayer for October-December are available in the Narthex. Suggested donation is $1. What a great way to spend time with God and your family. A limited number of large print copies are available in the church office.

Thank You! to everyone who donates to TFL School through the use of their Target Card and the Take Charge of Education Program. The school recently received a check for $348.17 from Target. For more information on this program, please call 1-800-316-6142 or visit target.com/tcoe

Campbell's Soup Labels -  Lutheran Special Education Ministries can benefit from Campbell's soup labels - and labels from other Campbell's products as well. The ministry sends the labels to Campbell's and exchanges them for classroom equipment and materials which will benefit us at Trinity First.
