Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you are welcome!
May the presence of the Almighty bless and comfort you, so that you leave here renewed and prepared for the week ahead.

Prepare for Worship next Sunday by reading:  Jeremiah 17:5-8     1 Corinthians 15:1-20     Luke 6:17-26

Large Boats, small boats, float planes, flat tires, Native Americans, bears, fish, bald eagles, and a missionary. Come listen to Marcus Huff speak and tell about his year long experience as he served as a missionary on Vancouver Island and along the coast of British Columbia. It happens February TODAY at 11 am!

We Pray For:

Congregation's Annual Meeting - Sunday, February 11, 11am ... Annual Reports are due today Officers elected at our congregational meeting in December will be (re)installed the morning of February 11th.

Neighborhood Canvassing! Join Pastor Jacob and others as we get to know our neighbors and invite them to spiritual growth activities at Trinity First. We’ve got lots of meaningful spiritual growth opportunities to offer them…from Bible Studies to Men’s Groups to Movies! No experience necessary. We’ll meet from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, February 10th.

Next Elder Meeting will be on March 7.

Mike & Misty Eull have settled into new digs with his sister in Mounds View. They are doing well, but Misty says it’s too quiet and she misses all of us at Trinity First. They are dependant on public transit or others for transportation so they are searching for a new church home in the Mounds View area but they’ll come back and visit us when they can. – Pastor Jake

We Talked A Lot about spiritual gifts as we examined 1 Corinthians 12 and a “Theology of the body of Christ.” If the Spirit is moving you to explore your spiritual gifting, a “Spiritual Gift Discovery Tool” is available this morning for you to take home. If you prefer, the same tool can be found at http://www.woodburylutheran.org/resources/sg_inventory.php

Praise be to God! Pastor Francis closed on his previous house on Monday. Please thank God along with him that he’s back down to ONE mortgage.

The Men In The Construction Trades from St. John’s Chaska who looked at our remodeling needs last Saturday were cautiously optimistic that they could help us with at least some of the many improvements that need to be made so we can make fuller use of our space. Their first suggestion was that we get our heating plant fully operational. They’ll investigate this and other possibilities and get back to us. Another realization made by the Chaska men—and by our Church Council earlier that morning—is that we might consider praying for a building manager. This is a large building with many “systems” and at this time the trustees and I are not able to keep up with all the preventative maintenance and repairs that need to be done. After all, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! ~ Pastor Jake

God's Word Does Not Return Empty!  Come to the 11:00 am Bible study on Sunday March 4 and hear about how God's Word is accomplishing His desires and achieving His purposes in Nicaragua. Jonathan & Heidi Breitbarth (Heidi, is our Director of our "Tiger Club" After School Christian Outreach) will share of their recent mission trip to Nicaragua where they spent 15 days encouraging the very young Lutheran church body there and being encouraged by what God is raising up among the nations. On Thursday, March 8th, Heidi will give a more in-depth presentation to the women of the LWML. That presentations begins at 1:30 pm.

Hospitalizations, Births and Funerals ... Please phone the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, has given birth, or is in need of funeral arrangements. Due to privacy laws and lack of staff, hospitals and nursing homes seldom (if ever) phone the congregation or pastor when you enter the hospital.

Hispanic Mission Minute  -  by  Abby Dawkins
"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us." 1 Thessalonians 2:8. What a blessing to share our lives with others - to be connected to people. What a blessing to live in true fellowship with others - to be supported and encouraged by those around us. Yet the truth is that often times it is also difficult to live with others. Because of our sinfulness and pride, we are often left hurting and feeling discouraged, let down, and tired. It is hard to give of ourselves and our lives fully for the sake of the gospel. It is risky-business. We could be wounded. Yet we are not left alone. As Christians, we have the promise of our faithful God. He is constant and trustworthy. He gives us the strength to continue living and giving both the Gospel and our lives to those individuals he puts in our paths. Pray: for patience and perseverance as we share of our lives and the gospel with our Spanish-speaking neighbors who surround us. Praise: for our Dios fiel (faithful God)!!!

Intern Somali Love - by Doug Stoeckicht
Recently I have been on a spiritual gifts kick. I find myself in awe of this city and of God's amazing presence. While on my internship I have seen God work through our leaders in teaching the Word and sharing the love of Christ ach with their own divine gifts. Seeing the world in this light gives hope in what sometimes feels like a darkening world. Praise God for giving us a light to lead people to. My favorite author once said, "There is no such thing as darkness, there is only places where light is lacking."

Minnesota Food Share reports good news and bad news. The bad news is that food shelf usage is again at all time record usage across the state. Please give non-perishables as you are able.
