"The LORD is king! Let the earth rejoice" (Psalm 97:1 NRSV). We extend a happy welcome to all worshipers, especially those who are here for the first time. Introduce yourself to those around you after worship, and plan to be a part of our congregation regularly.

Baby Shower - Join us today at 11am in the Fellowship Hall as we help our organist, Denae Antuna, and her husband, Alex, welcome their new little one.

Trinity First Lutheran School's 7th & 8th Grade Girls will be sponsoring today's Coffee Hour on Sunday. We are volunteering to do the Coffee Hour as a part of a program sponsored through Concordia University to teach us stewardship. The money raised will be donated to the LCMS World Missions. Specifically, the money will be sent to the African country of Sierra Leone to spread the Gospel. We look forward to this opportunity and we hope to see you there!

Birthday Party / Open House in honor of Marie Bristol's 90 Birthday on Saturday, June 2nd from 3-6pm at Augustana Apartments (1425 10th Avenue South, Minneapolis) in the Sky Room on 7th floor. All are invited.

Sunday Morning 8:30 Bible Study will begin meeting again on June 3rd.  ~ Norm G.

Glory to God! Another baptism took place this last week at the Tuesday night Trinity Community of Faith worship service. James Bills was baptized into God's family.

Two by Two, God's Floating Zoo - The Students and Staff of Trinity First Lutheran School invite you to their 2007 Spring Musical. This original musical, written by Terri Bentz, with music by Tom Gundermann, will take you on an adventure of God's love and faithfulness! Join us for our performances on Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday May 24 at 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Don't miss the boat!

Hispanic Mission Minute - by Abby Dawkins
!Feliz dia de la Madre! (Happy Mother's Day!) Mothers are special. They care for us, they nurture us in body and in spirit, and they provide for us. The role of Mother is especially valued and appreciated int he Hispanic culture, making this day of celebration a day to celebrate their strength and provision in our lives. It is on a day like Mother's Day that we can thank God for the parents he has placed in our lives and that we can rely on him to be the source of our provision. PRAY: for the Reyes family as they make a few transitions. PRAY: for strong and healthy relationship between Hispanic mothers and their children.

Tashidelek! (Hello!)
Big Brother / Big Sister Program being launched and our new addition! It's truly amazing what God has been doing in our lives and in those of the Tibetans we serve over the past three years. We inherited a program serving the Tibetans and have developed relationships with the kids, their families and other adults with the hearts, prayers and support of Trinity First. Through this we have grown immensely in our understanding of the Tibetan culture. Our Lord has been so patient with us, yet over the past months we seemed to have hit a plateau. We felt the program wasn't growing and honestly we were getting frustrated, so what did we do? PRAY!

What He revealed to us was to use the gifts He gave us and not to try to duplicate the gifts He gave our predecessors. One of those gifts was listening through hospitality. Bob and I started to really listen to what the Tibetan adults, parents and kids had to say. They wanted more personal contact with us and a type of mentoring or a Bib Brother / Bib Sister program. They also wanted to know more about us, who we are and what makes us different. We are now beginning a more one-to-one program with the adults and family members - spending more time just listening and sharing our lives with them. We are now working on a summer camping trip where we can just spend a week with the families and their kids. Also, we are working to have more one-to-one time with the kids.

Recently a family asked Sheila to baby sit. This is a substantial level of trust: to ask someone not of their culture and not of their faith (they know we are Christians) to watch their children. This is a large step and totally unexpected. So, we are now out of our comfort zone and going by faith. Also, we prayed that He would bring someone who had our passion for the Tibetans and would fit into our ministry and provide support for us and the Tibetans. So what did God do? Tah-dah - he brought us Norman Piatti - our new addition. Norm will be working with the Tibetans one-on-one and supporting us in God's mission.

Please pray for the development of the Bib Brother / Big Sister program as we begin mentoring the Tibetans witnessing the love of Jesus Christ and please welcome Norm on board.

14th Annual Lutheran Night at the Twins - Here's your chance to join family and friends for a night of big league fun and excitement! Since 1994, over 70,000 Lutherans of all ages have joined together for an evening of fellowship at the ballpark. Again this  year, $1 from every ticket sold will go to the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity to help better lives for Minnesota families. One person from each delegation of 25 or more can participate with the pregame anthem song.
