Hispanic Mission Minute - by Abby Dawkins
"I want to be happy." were the words that came from my Hispanic friend's mouth last Sunday as I listened to her share about the circumstances in her life. She desires to be free of those things that burden her down and cause her to worry. Jesus promises that, for those who trust in him, he will give life... not just a happy life, but an abundantly full life filled with meaning and worth! Pray: for my friend, that she would trust in Jesus who offers a truly joy-filled life. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." - Jesus (John 10:10)

Ethiopian Mission Minute - by Pastor Francis Beko
With the help of God, Partners in Mission, LCMS Minnesota South District and Trinity First Lutheran Church Addis Hewot Ministries was able to open its door and start its Ministry on October 29, 2004. We want to take this occasion and thank the Lord for enabling us to be in ministry for the last thirty months with uninterrupted Sunday services since the start.
Looking back we can say several hundred individuals have been served with the Word of God through this young ministry. About 60 of them remain on our present registry. Of these about 25 attend our regular Sunday services while few attend weekly Bible study program. So far 2 infants have been baptized.
Ministry in the Twin Cities has become a challenge as people who are committed to stay in church have either to work on Sundays and Saturdays or even move to other States for better opportunities. Please pray for us so that the Lord may give a model that could fit the situations of the immigrants in transition as they try to find the best job and better States settle in. Please pray for our summer spiritual conference that new people may come to hear the Word and receive Christ as Lord and Savior.

Brian Scoles will be ordained and installed as the 8th pastor of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church (674 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul, MN 55106, 651-774-2396). You are invited to celebrate with them in a Sunday, June 24 worship service at 2pm. A reception will follow. Before attending seminary Brian served for many years as a Director of Christian Outreach (DCO). He's a friend from my days at Concordia, St. Paul and I know that he'll do a wonderful job capitalizing on the many opportunities to reach out with the Gospel in their vital and vibrant neighborhood!  ~ Pastor Jake
