Deepest Thanks to God for Seminarian Matthew Wood who will share a message from God's Word with us this morning. And many thanks to Kevin B and Michelle Gillard for leading us in songs of praise to our God!

Garage Sale Note - Please pass the word that this past Saturday's garage sale was the last garage sale this year. Thank you to Jeanne Huff and all those who worked with her for making this summer's sales so successful!

Next Sunday: Outdoor Worship at 9:30 a.m.! We'll break the stained-glass barrier and venture outside for worship. We'll join many neighbors who will be outside for the Art Fair. Bring a lawn chair.

Celebrate - God Loves You!  VBS will be held here from Monday, August 13 through Thursday August 16. God has put together an incredible group of people from several different churches. The goal is to introduce over 200 children in the Phillips neighborhood to Jesus Christ during this week. Please pray that many will be reached.

No Prayer Circle / Bible Class on Wednesday, August 15.

TFL Roof Repair Ice Cream Social Fund-Raiser - Part 2  August 19   All proceeds to be used towards our roof repair. Matching Funds by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans up to $1,300.00. Please make checks payable to: Trinity First Lutheran, memo: Thriven Matching Funds. If you would like to help serve, please see Wendy. Part 1, on July 15, was a success! We raised $550 of $1300.

Celebrate "The Village"  Help us celebrate our many cultures at the first outdoor multicultural art fair, "The Village" on Franklin Avenue between 10th & 15th, on Saturday, and Sunday, August 18th & 19th. There will be art for sale, a children's area, entertainment, a wellness area, food and more. For more information, call Marge Bratsch or visit our web site www.venturavillage.org. We have opportunities for artists, entertainers, volunteers, storytellers and story readers.

The Truth Project - Coming to Trinity First Lutheran Church! - Monday evenings at 7:00 pm from September 17 until December 10, 2007. Focus on the Family's DVD-based small group study designed to equip believes with a comprehensive Biblical worldview. Practically and personally, participants will be reintroduced to the truth claims of God. Twelve one-hour lessons discuss in detail God's design for living out the Christian worldview in daily life. Most importantly, it addresses the need to marry our actions with our core beliefs. What this curriculum does is nothing shore of transformational. There will be an information session and fellowship time at TFL on Sunday, August 19 at 6pm

14th Annual Lutheran Night at the Twins - Tuesday, August 21, 2007 - Here's your chance to join family and friends for a night of big league fun and excitement! Since 1994, over 70,000 Lutherans of all ages have joined together for an evening of fellowship at the ballpark. Again this  year, $1 from every ticket sold will go to the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity to help better lives for Minnesota families. (For more information, please visit thriventbuilds.com) Also, you can become a member of the Twins "Lutheran Night Choir" and help sing the National Anthem. One person from each delegation of 25 or more can participate with the pregame anthem song. Hospitalizations, Births and Funerals ... Please phone the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, has given birth, or is in need of funeral arrangements. Due to privacy laws and lack of staff, hospitals and nursing homes seldom (if ever) phone the congregation or pastor when you enter the hospital.

Campbell's Soup Labels -  Lutheran Special Education Ministries can benefit from Campbell's soup labels - and labels from other Campbell's products as well. The ministry sends the labels to Campbell's and exchanges them for classroom equipment and materials which will benefit us at Trinity First.
