If you desire to experience either of these two services, why not visit another congregation? You will be blessed! There will be mid-week Advent, German and Christmas Eve and Day worship services. Residents of Augustana Lutheran Homes toured TFL two weeks ago. They will return the favor on Wednesday, October 3rd at 10:00 a.m. pastor Jake will preach at ta worship service and then they'll treat us to lunch.
Hospitalizations, Births and Funerals ... Please phone the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, has given birth, or is in need of funeral arrangements. Due to privacy laws and lack of staff, hospitals and nursing homes seldom (if ever) phone the congregation or pastor when you enter the hospital.

Book Discussion Group on Bondage Bondage of the Will, that is! There are few books written nearly 500 years ago that are yet so relevant today. Martin Luther's signature work, On the Bondage of the Will is one of them. (Luther suggested that perhaps it was his best work - along with the Catechism) A thorough reading will bring you face-to-face with the root of dissent between Luther and the Catholic Church of the 1500s. Once there, you'll be equipped to go on and critically assess "decision theology" that is so popular in our world today. You are invited to a Book Discussion Group on Luther's Bondage of the Will! Each Monday, October 1 through November 5 (six session in all) beginning at 6:30pm hosted at the Haagenson's. So by a copy of ht book and contact Bea to get on the roster. Let's read it together and discern the nature of mankind's will!

LWML Fall Conference Rally "God... Our Tall Rock & Refuge (Ps 61:2)" will be held on Saturday, October 13th from 9am - noon at Lutheran Church of the Redemption (927 E Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington). the Bible Study will be led by Rev. Greetings All! As many of you know, I have a choir tour to look forward to this upcoming May. We are going to Ghana, Africa, for 16 days, during which we will perform several concerts in churches, cathedrals, and even marketplaces. The entire cost of the trip is $1950.00 (which I need to pay in three payments - $150 by October 15, $800 in January, and another $800 in April). In order to help pay for this trip, I am doing some fundraising by selling choir CDs. The recordings from last year's choir tour to Florida are in next week, and any CDs that I sell will go towards my tour fund. It's beautiful music, with a lot of variety in sound. No, I don't have any of the solos on the CD, but all of the organ playing is done by me. I think there are $20 each. If you know of anyone who would enjoy some good music, I'll make sure they receive a CD! Thanks so much! Blessings, Denae
NEEDED: Forgiven believers in Christ (of any age) willing to work and play with children once / week in the afternoon. The Tiger Club after-school program at TFL is designed to transform the lives of our young friends (K-8th graders) into a reconciling community among the Philllips neighborhood of Minneapolis. Any lasting positive effects that the children will receive from this program will be a direct result of God working through volunteers like you who commit to regularly sharing love and care with just one child. We're confident that God will lead the people He desires to us. Is He leading you our way? Ethiopian Mission Minute

Zerihun is a church planter and lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with his
mother, four sisters and a brother. Little over two years ago, Zerihun called me
and said, "Pastor Francis, there are few Mekane Yesus Lutherans in Sioux Fall
who worship at an Ethiopian Baptist Church We do not have the opportunity to
baptize our kids (now eight) nor do we have an educated pastor or good financial
administration." He asked me to pray for them and help them find a Lutheran
Church where they could worship as Lutherans, have their kids baptized and
receive good instructions in the word of God. I asked how serious he was with
his request. He said very serious and desperate. I said give me two weeks for
study and prayer. Fast forward: After doing my homework regarding the group I
made contacts with LCMS South District Mission Director who led me to LCMS
pastors in Sioux Falls. Faith Lutheran Church after investigating the sincerity
of their request offered to host the group by allowing them the use of their
facilities for worship and other church related functions. On Labor Day,
September 3, 2007, Zerihun invited my wife and me to join them in celebration of
their two year ministry and expansion of their work. On arrival we found the
"Little Flock" through the grace of God has extended its ministry to the
immigrants from Rwanda, Burundi and Republic of Congo. Many people from these
groups were worshipping with the Ethiopian community that day. Redeemer Lutheran
Church of LCMS is now hosting this new group in Sioux Falls. God is good. Praise
him for his wonderful care and protection.

A Taste of Ethnic Missions Coming Soon! Have you ever wondered what happens to the mission offerings your church sends to The Minnesota South District?
