OFFICIAL NOTICE - The terms of 2 Trustees (Steve Dreyer &: Mart Pobul) of Trinity First Ev. Lutheran Church will expire at the end of 2007. A regular and official election will be held next Sunday, December 9th at 11am to fill these positions. (The Trustees are the legal owners of the corporation that is TFL. I have received a "Divine Call" thru LCMS World Mission to serve in Uganda, East Africa as a Leadership Training Facilitator. Please lift up my family in prayer in these days as we deliberate on whether to accept the Call or return the Call. I hope to give my answer to the Mission Board in the coming weeks. -Pastor Jake
$100 Thank You! - We have received a $100 gift from the Central Minneapolis Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans: "At this time when families, neighbors and congregations give thanks for our many blessings, we recognize the dedicated service you provide our community... It is our hope that you would select a ministry within the church to benefit from this gift of appreciation. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Central Minneapolis Chapter are committed to helping our members' congregations and communities thrive! Thank you for sharing your time and energy to help us realize this goal." The ministry chosen to receive this wonderful gift is the Cheer Basket fund. They are given in the name of Jesus to staff, members, and neighbors by the congregation. Thanks be to God! ~ Wendy Colglazier
The German Service is next Sunday, December 9th at 2:30 pm Please tell your friends about this unique holiday festival!
Please be generous in your sponsorship of "cheer baskets" this holiday season. They are given in the name of Jesus to staff, members, and neighbors by the congregation. Pick up an envelope form an usher or greeter and place your gift in the offering plate by December 16th. - Thanks, Jeanne Huff
Weren't here two weeks ago?
You can still receive the free gift of an 'mp3 New Testament'. Speak with me, Pastor Jacob, to learn more about this Bible Listening Program.
I challenge you to carve out 28 minutes each day (less than 2% of the day!) and listen to God's Word. It's an easy way to "Abide in the Word" (refer to John 8:31 and 15:7). Meditate on Romans 10:17! You will be transformed!
There are still 36 days between now and the end of the year. You can still listen to the entire New Testament between now and the end of the year. It is entirely possible! Since it is a 40 day program, just double your listening on 2 days. You can do this!
You can still request individual 'mp3 players' ("Bible Sticks") by filling out the card found inside your 'mp3 new Testament' and mailing it in, or by calling in your order toll-free to 800-545-6552, Monday through Friday 7-4pm MST. Bible Sticks are $29 each.
We'll receive a free-will offering for Faith Comes By Hearing Ministries on December 9th and we can choose which foreign language edition that we'd like to sponsor - the list is posted on the bulletin board by the office. May God bless you listing!
Offering Envelopes for 2008 are now available and can be picked up by the entry-way. You may still submit your pledge card - just place it in the offering plate!
Wednesday morning Bible Class will be held at Augustana this week. Enter via the 1020 building. God's Holy Spirit continues to transform us as we walk thru the Gospel of John verse by verse. You are always welcome to join us!

Forum for Congregational Dialogue last Sunday! Notes from the meeting ware

Our income for the Month of September fell $3700 short of what is required to meet our regular expenses. The previous two months (July and August) showed great congregational support and we were just about break even. October started well but was over $2000 short by the end of the month. Please remember that the next few months also bring very large heating costs so your continued extra support is always needed and appreciated. Do you have friends who have a gift of giving? If so, let them know of our needs here. Even better, let your heavenly Father know about it.
As the Holy Days approach, please be aware ... there will be no Thanksgiving or New Years worship services. If you desire to experience either of these two services, why not visit another congregation? You will be blessed! There will be mid-week Advent, German and Christmas Eve and Day worship services. Please refer to the calendar published each week in the worship folder entitled "Key Dates Ahead" for specifics.

Tibetan Mission Minute
- by Bob Sheila Nikl
A couple of weeks ago was the first time we had a dinner with my family,
that is my mom along with my sister's and brother's spouse and kids, and
three of the closest Tibetan families my wife and I are involved with. All
went well and it seems as if everyone had a good time.
I think the Tibetan families thought it was an honor because they did
the cooking and one mom even took a half-a-day off work to prepare. I think
this has moved our ministry to another level because the sharing of my
family with them.
TFL School Mission Minute
- by Principal Sarah Wippich
The Children's Christmas service is fast approaching. Please note the change in
date as we have moved the service to Thursday, December 20. The children have
begun learning their songs and their lines; it's so wonderful to hear them
singing. At this special time of year we pray that each child find the true
meaning of Christmas in the birth of our Savior. Our school has been blessed to
share this ministry with many and recently we received a sizable donation of
chairs! A little more than we anticipated but God always has a plan - maybe
they're for more students?!
LINC sermon series
--
Blessings to you in the midst of a busy season! I would like to
bring to your attention (and the attention of your respective
congregations) an Advent Midweek sermon series at Bethel Lutheran
Church in St. Paul, MN based upon the thee guiding principles of
LINC. The series is entitled "The INCARNATIONAL Church." Services
are at 11am and 7pm with a noon lunch or a 6pm dinner at Bethel. I
intend for this series to bring Bethel into a deeper understanding
of the LINC concept and to engage further conversation of how we can
implement this model in our church.
Dec. 5 "Indigenous/Missional Leadership"
Dec. 12 "Community Development"
Dec. 19 "Church Multiplication"
If you are unable to attend, we should be able to post these
sermons on our website as mp3 files for you to listen to at your
convenience. Upon completion of the series, the PowerPoint slides
will also be available for anyone else who wishes to preach or teach
a similar series. Many Blessings! Rev. David Seabaugh, Pastor
Bethel Lutheran Church ~

Hospitalizations, Births and Funerals ... Please phone the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, has given birth, or is in need of funeral arrangements. Due to privacy laws and lack of staff, hospitals and nursing homes seldom (if ever) phone the congregation or pastor when you enter the hospital.
