We welcome all this morning. Welcome home to Trinity
First.
I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the Lord!"
Prepare for worship next Sunday by reading: Isaiah 7:10-17 Romans 1:1-7 Matthew 1:18-25
I have received a "Divine Call" thru LCMS World Mission to serve in Uganda, East Africa as a Leadership Training Facilitator. Please lift up my family in prayer in these days as we deliberate on whether to accept the Call or return the Call. I hope to give my answer to the Mission Board in the coming weeks. -Pastor Jake
Special Thanks to all those who purchased poinsettias to beautify our sanctuary this Christmas!: Kuhlman, Kane, Haagenson, Huff, Kay, Bristol, Doepke, Hinck, Groenke. Many thanks to Gloria for coordinating this effort.
Our income for the Month of November fell $1,906
short of what was needed to meet our regular expenses.
- You may recall that we were down by a similar amount in October.
September was down by $3700 but July & August were almost break-even!
- We don't have a budget, per se, but we pay the bills that come in. The
bills that come in are expected and reasonable, such as insurance,
utilities, candles, compensation for employees, etc. Rest assured, there is
no fat to trim!
- You may ask, "How we are able to engaged in deficit spending?" Well, you
may recall that we took a fairly large cash advance back in the fall when we
refinanced our 2 loans with LCEF. That cushion will deflate each month that
we don't break even.
- First Peter 5:7 reminds us, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he
cares for you!" Are you willing to do that?
- Jesus asks, "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not
first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to
complete it?" Are you willing to strategically evaluate what God is
calling us to do with the resources he's given us?
$100 Thank You! - We have received a $100 gift from the Central Minneapolis Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans: "At this time when families, neighbors and congregations give thanks for our many blessings, we recognize the dedicated service you provide our community... It is our hope that you would select a ministry within the church to benefit from this gift of appreciation. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Central Minneapolis Chapter are committed to helping our members' congregations and communities thrive! Thank you for sharing your time and energy to help us realize this goal." The ministry chosen to receive this wonderful gift is the Cheer Basket fund. They are given in the name of Jesus to staff, members, and neighbors by the congregation. Thanks be to God! ~ Wendy Colglazier
Please be generous in your sponsorship of "cheer baskets" this holiday season. They are given in the name of Jesus to staff, members, and neighbors by the congregation. Pick up an envelope form an usher or greeter and place your gift in the offering plate by December 16th. - Thanks, Jeanne Huff
The Power of the Word
Do you still desire the free gift of an "mp3 New Testament"? Speak with Pastor Jacob to learn more about this Bible Listening Program.
We'll receive a free-will offering for Faith Comes By Hearing Ministries on December 9th and December 16th.
100% of the monies given will go directly towards the cost of recording another language New Testament. It costs $25,596 to record a language, $950 for 1 book of 1 language, and therefore $475 for 1/2 book of 1 language. We can choose which foreign language edition that we'd like to sponsor - the list is posted on the bulletin board by the office.
May God bless your listing!
Wednesday morning Bible Class will be held at Augustana this week. Enter via the 1020 building. God's Holy Spirit continues to transform us as we walk thru the Gospel of John verse by verse. You are always welcome to join us!

Tibetan Mission Minute
- by Bob & Sheila Nikl
Last week seemed a bit uneventful and this time a year is usually slow with
the Tibetan ministry. There were a few things that warrant mention. We were
part of one family's assembling of their Christmas tree, which for the most
part seemed odd to me because they're not Christian. The daughter played a
CD of Christmas songs and I was asked a few questions about Christmas. The
other thing that is worth mentioning is, they asked us to stay the night
last Tuesday because of the snow storm. They were concerned about us driving
in the snow. The dad told us our house (meaning his house) is you house.
Sheila stayed but I went home because the morning traffic for me would have
been worse than driving in the snow.
LINC sermon series
--
Blessings to you in the midst of a busy season! I would like to
bring to your attention (and the attention of your respective
congregations) an Advent Midweek sermon series at Bethel Lutheran
Church in St. Paul, MN based upon the thee guiding principles of
LINC. The series is entitled "The INCARNATIONAL Church." Services
are at 11am and 7pm with a noon lunch or a 6pm dinner at Bethel. I
intend for this series to bring Bethel into a deeper understanding
of the LINC concept and to engage further conversation of how we can
implement this model in our church.
Dec. 5 "Indigenous/Missional Leadership"
Dec. 12 "Community Development"
Dec. 19 "Church Multiplication"
If you are unable to attend, we should be able to post these
sermons on our website as mp3 files for you to listen to at your
convenience. Upon completion of the series, the PowerPoint slides
will also be available for anyone else who wishes to preach or teach
a similar series. Many Blessings! Rev. David Seabaugh, Pastor
Bethel Lutheran Church ~

Hospitalizations, Births and Funerals ... Please phone the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, has given birth, or is in need of funeral arrangements. Due to privacy laws and lack of staff, hospitals and nursing homes seldom (if ever) phone the congregation or pastor when you enter the hospital.
