Voter's Annual Meeting is today, following the 9:30 am Communion Service.

A Lenten mediation is offered each Wednesday during Lent at 9:30 am at Augustana Apartments in conjunction with our regular Wednesday morning Bible study. If you are looking for a Wednesday evening Lenten meditation, please visit Mt. Zion Lutheran at 5645 Chicago Ave S at 5:30 pm for supper and 7pm for Lenten worship.

The Council, Elders, and Trustees are considering renting space in the sanctuary to a congregation of another denomination (COGIC: Church of God in Christ) on Sunday mornings beginning in April. To make this work we would roll back our worship start time by half an hour: from 9:30 to 9:00 am. You are invited to share your thoughts on this matter with the aforementioned leaders.

Coming May 31, 2008 ... Minnesota Ablaze! Please reserve your calendars for this special event! Minnesota Ablaze is a joint conference of the Minnesota North and Minnesota South Districts of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod focusing on sharing our faith with those who do not know Christ. This will be a day filled with fellowship, music, worship, keynote speakers, breakout sessions and more! Our prayer is for attendance that exceeds 2,000 people, from families and church workers in our Minnesota congregations. We have reserved the Lake Geneva Christian Center, a Christian camp / resort facility in Alexandria for this event. Please et this date aside. More details will follow.

Tibetan Mission Minute - by Bob & Sheila Nikl
We would like to express our deepest thanks to TFL - both the congregation and the school - fo rall of your hospitality and support of the Tibetan ministry over the past 2 1/2 years. Much of the Tibetan ministry has recently transitioned to St Matthew Lutheran (LCMS) in Columbia Heights. It is a natural move because most of the Tibetan families whom we serve live within a mile of there. Accordingly, it is appropriate for Sheila and me to move our membership there. I'll continue to be mentored by Pastor Brutlag and go through the Colloquy process to become an LCMS pastor which should take another year. The way the people here at TFL love the Lord and His mission tot he lost has played a large roll in my motivation to colloquize into the LCMS, so we'd like to thank you for that also.  ~Blessings, Bob and Sheila Nikl

Nominations for Concordia Academy Association of Schools Executive Council  - The Executive Council of the Concordia Academy Association of Schools is seeking names of individuals willing to serve on the council, the primary governing body of the Association. Nominations are being sought for chair, chair elect, secretary and members-at-large. Prospective board members should have a passion for Lutheran secondary education, be familiar with the policy-based model of board governance, and be prepared to participate as a member of a high-functioning team. Prospective board members are also asked to sit for an interview with members of the Executive Committee of the Council. Hospitalizations, Births and Funerals ... Please phone the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, has given birth, or is in need of funeral arrangements. Due to privacy laws and lack of staff, hospitals and nursing homes seldom (if ever) phone the congregation or pastor when you enter the hospital.

Do you ever miss Sunday worship? It's important to stay in touch! Worship folders are mailed out each week from the Church Office by request. Let us know if we can send one to you or a loved one.

Portals of Prayer for January - March are available. Suggested donation is $1. What a great way to spend time with God and your family. A limited number of large print copies are available in the church office.

Campbell's Soup Labels -  Lutheran Special Education Ministries can benefit from Campbell's soup labels - and labels from other Campbell's products as well. The ministry sends the labels to Campbell's and exchanges them for classroom equipment and materials which will benefit us at Trinity First.
