Special Voter's Meeting - Sunday, March 21 at 11am: We will consider calling a pastor.
I am sorry that I had to bow out of leading Wednesday
morning Bible study and our prayer vigil for the future of TFL this past
week because we took Evangeline to the ER. I want to thank you for your
payers and share what's transpired:
Evangeline fell and smacked her face. The ER doc said that
her nose didn't look too bad but we should take her to her pediatrician on
Thursday when the swelling subsided. However, one of her front upper teeth
was pushed up into her gums, and there is a possibility of loosing it. The
biggest risk is that the baby tooth hurt the adult tooth bud, but the
pediatric dentist is hopeful that the bud will be ok. In the meantime
we're giving Little Line lots of cuddles. Amelia was a helpful big sister
and a super trooper during all of the waiting - and she was rewarded with a
Garfield band aid and a tongue depressor! ~ Thanks for your love and
concern, Pastor Jake & Michelle
A Lenten mediation is offered each Wednesday during Lent at 9:30 am at Augustana Apartments in conjunction with our regular Wednesday morning Bible study. If you are looking for a Wednesday evening Lenten meditation, please visit Mt. Zion Lutheran at 5645 Chicago Ave S at 5:30 pm for supper and 7pm for Lenten worship.
The Council, Elders, and Trustees are considering renting space in the sanctuary to a congregation of another denomination (COGIC: Church of God in Christ) on Sunday mornings beginning in April. To make this work we would roll back our worship start time by half an hour: from 9:30 to 9:00 am. You are invited to share your thoughts on this matter with the aforementioned leaders.
To God be the Glory this Easter! Would you like to express praise and thanks to our Lord by presenting flowers for use in the Sanctuary this Easter Sunday, march 23rd? Orders must be turned in to the Church Office by Monday, February 25th. Please use this form. - Thank you
