TFL Church Foundation has contributed $500 from its interest to the work of Lutheran World Relief in Haiti with matching funds from Thrivent. The Foundation's remaining interest, $5680.69, was graciously given to TFL Church last Sunday. Thank you

The 2009 Annual Meeting is almost here. It will be held Sunday, Feb 14 at 11am. Please have your report handed in to the office a week earlier on 2/7. Thank you!

Haiti Earthquake -LCMS World Relief - It's been a week since the devastating 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti. In that time you have showed your overwhelming support for the people of Haiti with cash donations and prayers. Please know that LWR is putting your gifts to good use. We've been working with partners on the ground to ensure that the people of Haiti get access to food, water and shelter.

Many of you have asked what else you can do to help. I am writing to alert you of an opportunity. Along with partners at Church World Service, we sent a shipment of health kits and layettes to Haiti. That shipment depleted our stock of health kits in the Maryland warehouse. And we will need many more to fulfill needs in the coming weeks and months.
Will you help us fulfill the need for health kits, quilts and school kits? We want to bring relief and comfort to the people of Haiti, but we also need to continue to fulfill requests from around the world. To do this, we need your help. How? Continue to give generously; Make health kits, quilts and school kits.  We have a warehouse in South St. Paul, MN.

Thanks for being God's hands and heart to those in need in Haiti and across the world. I look forward to sending you more reports on how your love is helping to restore lives.

"Road To Coronation" - Lenten Bible Study  The way to get the most out of the Lenten season is to spend it immersed in Scripture. with Road to Coronation, we'll examine how each Gospel writer tells the Passion story. what emerges is a fresh encounter with our Risen Lord and Servant-Messiah - who calls us still today to find life by giving it away.

Lion's Gate Christian Academy Open Houses  - Plan on attending one of the open houses to find out the plans we have for our school for 2010-2011. We're planning changes to our program that we more student-centered, collaborative, servant-leadership based and help to enhance higher order thinking skills. We'll tell you more on Sunday, January 31st from 2-4 at LGCA North (grades 9-12) at 6541 - 16th Ave S, Richfield. We will also have an evening Open House at the North Campus from 6:30-8:30pm on Thursday, February 11. Call 612-866-4222 or 952-881-0036 for more information.

Lutheran Marriage Encounter Weekend - Get away from the everyday demands of the world so the two of you can really focus on each other., Its great for couples who already have a good marriage and want to enrich their relationship. Its also does wonders for those marriages that have lost their luster through years of child-rearing and work obligations. Friday, February 12 at 7p m to Sunday February 14 at 5pm in Brooklyn Center. There are other weekends offered: March 19-21 (Brooklyn Center) , April 16-28 (Duluth), and April 30-May1 (Alexandria). Please register a month in advance. Hospitalizations, Births and Funerals ... Please phone the church office if you or someone you know is hospitalized, has given birth, or is in need of funeral arrangements. Due to privacy laws and lack of staff, hospitals and nursing homes seldom (if ever) phone the congregation or pastor when you enter the hospital.

Do you ever miss Sunday worship? It's important to stay in touch! Worship folders are mailed out each week from the Church Office by request. Let us know if we can send one to you or a loved one.

CD's or Cassette Tapes of this worship gathering are available to you by calling or emailing the church office, 612-870-9487.

Portals of Prayer for October- December are available. Suggested donation is $1. What a great way to spend time with God and your family. A limited number of large print copies are available in the church office.

Campbell's Soup Labels -  Lutheran Special Education Ministries can benefit from Campbell's soup labels - and labels from other Campbell's products as well. The ministry sends the labels to Campbell's and exchanges them for classroom equipment and materials which will benefit us at Trinity First. For information on how you can help with this project, please contact Michelle at school.
