Prayer Preparation for Worship
Pray for a repentant heart
Reflect on your sin and seek His mercy.
Pray that by the Spirit's aid you will be receptive to the Word and
brought closer to Him
Heavenly Father, fill me with Your Spirit and open my mind and heart to be
attentive to Your Word in order that I might follow You more nearly and love
your more dearly, and that my worship may be acceptable in Your sight for Jesus'
sake. Amen
If you have come bearing a burden
Dearest Jesus, I have come into Your house and brought my troubles and
problems with me. O Lord, as I meet You here today remind me of Your gracious
promise that I may cast my cares upon You confident that You do indeed care for
me. In Your Name. Amen
Pray for world leaders, local leaders ... and your enemies
Pray for the worship leaders
That they may be filled with the Holy Spirit and share God's Word with
power.
Pray for those present today
a) the visitor - that they feel welcomed and hear God speak to
them through His Word
b) the seeking - that they might be led by the Holy Spirit to
receive Christ
c) the hurting - that they would find comfort and support in their
need
d) the doubting or weak in faith - that their faith might be
strengthened
e) the anxious and worried - that they be assured of His gracious
care
f) those rejoicing - that they will give thanks to God for His love
Pray for those absent today
a) because of illness - that God would grant them healing
b) circumstances beyond their control - that they might yet worship
Him
c) travel - that God would grant safe travel and return
d) those homebound - that they realize that their worship joins with
that of all the saints
e) indifferent & delinquent - that the Spirit would move them to an
intimate walk with God in faith
f) those serving in our military - hear and abroad
